Guild VS Guild Dialogues

A mobile version of the popular League of Legends, Wild Rift launched a Guild VS Guild (GvG) system to encourage players to join guilds and play with their friends.
During each GvG season, a guild was pitted against another guild every week. Each guild was assigned a specific character (referred to as champions), and could read flavorful dialogues between their champion and the rival guild’s champion.
I wrote dialogues that stayed true to each champion’s voice while giving players more insight into the world behind the game.

THE DIALOGUE: SHEN VS AKALI
Akali finds a dragon egg and vows to return it to its mother. Shen, who knows that mother dragons are famously quick to anger, follows after his old student in hopes of dissuading her.
AKALI’S SIDE - INTRODUCTION
AKALI
Look what I found!
AKALI
It’s glowing… It must be a dragon egg!
AKALI
How did you get so far from home, little one? Don’t worry. My friends and I will find your mother.
SHEN
It would be better to leave the egg be, Akali.
AKALI
You’re kidding, old man. Without its mother, this baby will die.
SHEN
Everything happens for a reason, child. By returning the egg, you risk interrupting the balance of this world.
AKALI
Who cares? This baby has lost its mother!
AKALI
If you won’t help me, then we’ll do it ourselves.
AKALI
Everyone, let’s go! We’ve got to find the dragon nest before nightfall.
AKALI
Tch. He’s following us?
AKALI
Still doesn’t trust me, huh? …Whatever. That’s not going to stop me from doing what’s right.
SHEN’S SIDE - SABOTAGE
SHEN
Though she was once one of my brightest pupils, Akali has a fatal flaw: impatience.
SHEN
She barrels headfirst into everything, accepting what’s in front of her without proper discernment.
SHEN
Suppose she discovers a dragon nest. But suppose also that the dragon nest is fake…
SHEN
She wouldn’t even know the difference.
